Bead Encrusted Bangle Bracelet

Bead Encrusted Bangle Bracelet

Beading is all the rage now and this workshop will give you new skills to bring to creating unique jewelry for yourself, your dolls and enrich your quilts and all of your creative work.  You will be able to make two different styles of Bead encrusted Bangle. One style is made with a toggle clasp, the other a circular bangle.

Techniques to be taught:

You will learn the fun and versatile technique of bead weaving that requires no loom to create this fabulous bracelet which is Marcia's original design.

Students will be shown with step-by-step instruction how to do the tubular peyote stitch that is so very versatile and used in many different ways. In addition to be learned is the beaded picot stitch, circle stitch, and how to weave in and weave off new and old working threads. Creative techniques for embellishing the bracelet surface with a myriad of decorative beads and charms will be taught in detail as well as the technique on how to use various jewelry making tools used in creating and attaching a fashionable toggle clasp to create a professional looking piece.


Kit Fee– to be announced

Kit Contents include:

  •  Fully detailed pattern and color photograph
  •  Beading supports for special stitch techniques

Class use of beading threads, thread conditioner, soft flex wire for the toggle bracelet and various jewelry making tools

FAIRIE-KINS - Art Doll Workshop
 

This is a magical creature that will charm anyone who gazes upon this 5 1/2"” high x 14” round weighted Fairie with shimmering pose-able wings and balancing a fortune -tellers Gazing Ball on the tip of a finger.

Techniques taught include:

  •  Student will learn advanced needle-sculpting techniques to create an adorable nose, chubby cheeks and double chinned face. There will be no two alike in class.
  •  Basics of facial proportions and coloring of the features of the face, hands and feet
  •  Student will learn to sew a 2- piece face, hands and feet using Cotton/Lycra stretch fabric
  •  Technique of wiring and stuffing pose able fingers and toes
  •  How to create 3-dimensional finger and toe nails
  •  How to construct, wire and sew pose able poly organza wings
  •  Technique of using metallic and sparkling Fabric paints to create unique designs creating one of a kind shimmering Gossamer Fairie wings.
  •  The construction and painting of the Fairie’s glittering antennae
  •  How to make and bead embellish the Jester style collar
  •  Application of multi fibered yarns and threads to create the whimsical hair
  •  How to invisibly attach body parts to the doll’s body
  •  Bead and ribbon embellishing techniques to add richness and Pizzazz to this doll

Sewing machine needed and a ¼” foot: Bring to class on first session only with cream or light pink polyester thread already on spool and wound in bobbin

  • Pattern with full color photograph
  • Finger turner kit with directions
